You're not your record - A letter to men starting over in Texas

If you've ever felt like a background check was the end of the road, this is for you.

I want to talk to you directly. Not as a staffing agency. Not as a business. As someone who understands — more than most — what it feels like to watch someone you love get counted out by a system that doesn't leave much room for second chances.

My father passed while incarcerated. Before he died, he told me something I've never been able to shake: "If I had a resource, maybe I would've made a different decision."

That sentence is why BPrep Services exists. And it's why I'm writing this to you today.

My father passed while incarcerated. Before he died, he told me something I've never been able to shake: "If I had a resource, maybe I would've made a different decision."

That sentence is why BPrep Services exists. And it's why I'm writing this to you today.

I know what the job search looks like from where you're standing. You clean up your resume. You practice what you're going to say. You walk in — or submit the application online — and then you see it. That box. Or that background check screen. And something in you braces.

Maybe you've been rejected before. Maybe you've been told — directly or indirectly — that you're too much of a risk. Maybe you've started to believe it yourself.

I'm here to tell you that's a lie.

Here's what I know about men who've been through the system and come out the other side ready to work:

  • They don't take opportunities for granted — because they know what it's like to have none.

  • They show up. Not because it's easy, but because they understand the cost of not showing up.

  • They are loyal to employers who treat them with dignity — because loyalty and respect go both ways.

  • They are more than the worst thing that ever happened to them or the worst decision they ever made.

That's not charity. That's not lowering the bar. That's the truth about the men I've been placing into jobs across Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington for the past five years.

Over 338 of them. With a 92% retention rate. With employers who keep calling us back

for more.

I also want to be honest with you about what starting over actually looks like — because I'm not going to sell you a fantasy.

It's not easy. Some employers will still say no. Some applications will still sting. There will be days when the weight of your record feels heavier than anything you're carrying in your hands.

But there are also employers who are ready to say yes — and who will judge you on what you do from day one, not on what happened before.

That's where we come in.

At BPrep, we don't just hand you a job listing and wish you luck. We walk with you. We prepare you. We connect you with employers who are genuinely open to second chance hiring. We provide transportation so that getting to work isn't another barrier between you and your paycheck. And we stay in contact after you start — because your success is our success.

· · ·

If you're reading this and you're ready — really ready — to get back to work, I want to hear from you.

Not the polished version. Not the version you think we want to see. Just you — where you are, what you've done, what you're good at, and where you want to go.

We have opportunities in call centers, warehouses, event operations, and security. We have employers across DFW who are actively hiring. And we have a team that will advocate for you, not just process you.

You are not your record. You are what you do next.

Let's get to work.
